Lemur Class
Welcome to Lemur Class!
Your class teacher is Miss Newman who is currently working as an ECT (Early Career Teacher). Working with Miss Newman is Miss Pelosi who is the LSA (Learning Support Assistant) in Lemur Class.
We have been learning about the different species of lemurs and the reasons that they’re endangered. The class have decided that they would like to help the charities that are in place to protect the remaining lemurs in Madagascar. We will be raising money over the school year.
We are promoting independence in our class. The children have jobs that they are responsible for completing without prompts. They are also learning to edit their own work using a checklist, and knowing what to do once they’ve completed a piece of work.
Lemur Class have decided upon some class rules that, when followed, the children will earn pom-poms to fill a jar. They will then vote on a reward to celebrate the positive behaviour!
One of our class rules is that the children are responsible for their belongings and their home reading/learning. Reading books will be changed when the children tell us they have finished their current book. They are also expected to practise spellings and times-tables at home.
