Chimpanzee Class

Welcome to Chimpanzee Class!

Your class teacher is Miss Smith who is currently working as an ECT (Early Career Teacher). Working with Miss Smith is Mr Burnett who is the LSA (Learning Support Assistant) in Chimpanzee Class.

We have been learning about chimpanzees and the reasons that they’re endangered. The class have decided that they would like to help the charities that are in place to protect the remaining chimpanzees. We will be raising money over the school year in different ways. Some of the ideas that the children had are an art sale, a sponsored litter pick and a charity bake sale.

The children in Chimpanzee class have all signed our class charter which promotes good behaviour in class shown through love, courage and respect. All of the children take great responsibility in making sure that the classroom remains tidy at all times, that all of their stationery is neatly put away and that the reading area is neat and tidy.

Reading throughout the school day, as well as at home, is encouraged as we really want to promote the love of reading here in Chimpanzee class! Times table practice as well as spelling is also something that we would encourage at home.

We will endeavour to keep you up to date with information throughout the school year and if there is anything at all that you would like to discuss, please get in touch with Miss Smith.

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
