Dear Parents and Carers,
Only one week left before half-term, it has been a very busy few weeks and we have achieved so much since returning to school in September.
Yesterday our year 6 children enjoyed a trip to the mainland, their visit to Salisbury made interesting links for them to their current learning in history. I think they know and understand more about the Magna Carta than I do and I look forward to talking to them about their learning.
Over the last few weeks many of you will have seen Tango, our pet dog, in and around school. Her training is going well and we would like to express our gratitude for Ability Dogs 4 Young People for all of their help and ongoing support, earlier this week Carol came in and did some specific work with us in school, her help and advice was really valuable. Ability Dogs 4 Young People are a charity that make a real difference by training assistant dogs do please take a look at their website: www.abilitydogs4yp.org.uk to find out more about the work that they do. We can all help to support them, as a school I would like us to collect milk bottle tops and stamps, donations of these will help them to raise money for their charity.
We would like to thank all of the parents who have supported their children with this half term’s homework. Some of the class teachers have already asked for the children to return their books. Please could we ask that all books for this half term’s homework challenge are returned by Monday 14th October so that the teachers can mark the work and prepare the certificates for the children that have completed the work.
Thank you to all of our staff and children for their enthusiasm and hard work, I hope you all have well deserved rest over the weekend.
Best wishes
Mrs Fox
