What a week this has been!
We welcomed Year 6 back to Brighstone on Monday only to bid them Bon Voyage once again as on Thursday they travelled to their future Secondary Schools. They had an amazing time in Wales and my thanks go to all the staff who made such an invaluable experience possible. Initial reports regarding the two Secondary transition days are very positive and I look forward to hearing the full news next week!
Today has been our opportunity to get a taste of what September will look like as we have welcomed our new members of staff to school and the children have spent the day with their new teacher. We also met our new Reception class children who sat beautifully during Golden Worship this morning, well done. Class names are all going to be based upon endangered animals next year: Reception class – Pandas, Year 1 – Penguins, Year 2 – Leopards, Year 3 – Jaguars, Year 4 – Elephants, Year 5 – Tigers and Year 6 – Blue Whales.
Next week is an equally busy week.
Lights, Camera, Action! Chitty Chitty Bang Bang lands on Monday and Tuesday. The whole school are off to the theatre on Monday to familiarise ourselves with the stage etc. before the evening performance. We will be there over the lunchtime period which will mean that all pupils will require a packed lunch. I am getting very excited now!
