Dear Parents and Carers,
With only just over a week to go until the end of term, there is a great sense of anticipation and excitement about all of the events and activities that we have planned.
Earlier this week our year 2 and year 4 children shared a trip to Yarmouth that included a wide variety of learning experiences linked to their topic themes on Coasts. Thank you to Yarmouth RNLI for the tours around the Lifeboat and the opportunity to visit the Station. Following a walk to Fort Victoria, the children enjoyed exploring the Sunken Secrets exhibition.
On Thursday we welcomed into school Dani from the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, who helps to organize the Schools’ Walk the Wight. All of the children who took part were recognized and given certificates as well as their medals if they had not already received them. The participation from Brighstone Primary School was impressive and the sponsorship raised was an amazing £888.00. Thank you so much to all of the families who supported this, we look forward to next year’s event and hope that we can encourage even more families to take part. Well done to everyone.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the events we have got coming up across the coming week and being able to celebrate the successes of our school year.
We are pleased to announce that Mrs Lennon will be taking on the role of acting assistant head teacher for the next academic year.
Best wishes
Mrs Fox
