Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 27, 27th March, 2015, Brighstone Buzz

How wonderful it has been to see the sun this week! It has added to the wonderful glow which has been growing throughout our school this week as we have shared so many fantastic moments:

We started the week with the fantastic news that our Under 11 football team had won the championship match which they played against Ryde Private School. It was with great honour that I introduced our triumphant team on Monday to a huge round of applause. They were also presented with their trophy and certificates in today’s Golden Worship. A full report of the match can be found attached to the emailed edition of the Buzz or on our school website.

I have been inundated by children wanting to show me their wonderful writing this week. I have been amazed by the stories and poems that I have read. It is clear that their hard work and effort has been rewarded this term.

On Wednesday I received an invitation from one of the young men in penguin class to be his partner on their visit to Seaview Wildlife Encounter yesterday. Sadly I was already booked to do something else but I have seen the photographic evidence of our penguins meeting the real life penguins – they all had a wonderful day and the sun even came out for them in the afternoon.

Golden Worship was very busy this morning as we congratulated so many of our pupils. We also bid a fond farewell to Mrs Westhorpe who begins a new job after the Easter break and I know you will join me to wish her all the best for the future.

All of the children were involved in an “Easter hunt” after worship today. In their house teams the children collected as many bottle tops as possible for the weigh in; in 4th place was Brook, 3rd was Wolverton, 2nd was Northcourt and in 1st place was Mottistone. Due to an undercover visit from the Easter Bunny we were all rewarded for our efforts with mini chocolate eggs to go in the baskets the children have been making this week.

Let’s hope the weather remains glorious and don’t forget that the clocks “spring” forward on Sunday. Have a super break and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday 13th of April. Ms Hall x

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
