Dear Parents and Carers,
Yesterday we welcomed our new reception children for September 2018 into school. Our transition morning was a great success; all of the children enjoyed spending time with their class teachers for next year. The atmosphere in school was one of pride, anticipation and
excitement. We also wish our year 6 children the very best as they visit their secondary schools.
I would like to thank all of the staff, pupils and parents that supported the Shorwell Midsummer Fair last Saturday. The children danced
beautifully and we received many positive comments from members of the public. A special thank you to Mrs Rogers and Miss Peto, who worked with the children in preparation for the event.
Today our year 2 children have explored their learning beyond the classroom with a visit to the Mary Rose Museum and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. They left early this morning with a great sense of excitement and anticipation. I am looking forward to hearing about their day and sharing the work that they will be doing on their return to school.
During the coming week we have a number of events and activities to look forward to. One of the highlights of the year will take place on Thursday, as we hold our school sports’ day. This Wednesday (4th July) we have Eucharist in church at 8.40am, this will be led by Rev Clive. We would like to invite parents to join us for our time of worship together. On Friday our Year 6 children will be attending the Diocese Leavers’ Service at Portsmouth Cathedral, they will be taking part in workshops during the morning and we are looking forward to worshipping together with children from other schools at the service in the afternoon.
We look forward to seeing you at the events during the final weeks of term.
Best wishes
