Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had an entertaining week filled with poetry, rhyme and song.
Yesterday was National Poetry Day and to mark the occasion every class learnt a poem that was performed in today’s Golden Worship. All of the children participated, sharing their poems in unique and entertaining ways. This included the use of sign language, props, acting and musical instruments. Well done to all of the children and thank you to all of the parents who came along and supported them.
Next Wednesday 4th October we have our Harvest Festival Celebration, this will be in church at 8.40am. Instead of a Eucharist this month, the service is a one of thanksgiving and celebration where each class will take part sharing hymns, poems, readings and prayers. In preparation for our Harvest Festival, we would like to encourage the children to bring gifts of packaged food products. These will then be donated to the Food Bank.
This is an exciting weekend as we have the annual Round the Island relay race organised by the BSA. There is a lot at stake as Brighstone won the sponsored run against Nine Acres Primary School last year. Can we hold onto the title for two years in a row? They have put in a huge effort and I’m sure you will join me in wishing them a successful day. Thank you to everyone who is taking part and to those who are sponsoring the runners.
I hope you have an enjoyable and restful weekend.
Best wishes
Mrs Fox
