Dear Parents and Carers,
It is hard to believe we have now completed our first full week back at school; the children have shown a real sense of enjoyment and engagement in their learning. I have been impressed by the way the children in Apple Tree Class (Reception) have settled into the routines of school life.
Our children in Willow Class and Sycamore Class have already enjoyed two opportunities of exploring their learning in the local area. Their walk to Marsh Green Farm on Thursday gave them the opportunity to experience a range of features in the outdoor environment.
This week the year 6 children have been applying for a range of roles and responsibilities in school. They have taken on the process with a great sense of maturity, responsibility and purpose. Their letters of application clearly show that they have put a lot of thought into it and that they have a desire to do well. Next week we will be able to share with you the details of who our Head Boy and Head Girl are along with the other jobs that have been assigned. We have discussed with the children how important every role is and that everyone has a part to play in school life. That everyone working together makes Brighstone ‘a small school where big things happen’.
As part of our ongoing commitment to Safeguarding, we want to ensure that our school site is secure both before and after the end of the school day. We would like to remind parents that the school gates will not be unlocked before 8.10am in the mornings for drop off and locked at 8.30am; there will be a member of staff on duty from 8.15am. They will be unlocked at 2.35pm for pick-up and locked again at 3.00pm in the afternoon.
I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend.
Best wishes, Mrs Fox
