Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 17, 16th January, 2015, Brighstone Buzz

The weather has not dampened our spirits here at Brighstone Primary School this week. Our intrepid explorers in Year 2 ventured to Portsmouth to explore the historic dockyard. I have received such wonderful feedback from so many of the children I think I may need to take a trip across the water myself in Half Term!

I have also had many conversations with children this week regarding the challenges that they have set themselves. Some have eaten carrots (even though they do not really like them), others have kept their bedroom tidy (or so they have told me!), many of our pupils have stretched themselves in Literacy and Numeracy and realised that if they believe they can achieve and others are still striving to complete their challenge.

Mr Evans discussed the Year 4 and Year 6 residential trip activities with the children this week and they democratically chose what they would like to do. They discussed the need for courage to take part in some of the activities and recognised that they could ask God for support as well as call on their friends, family and staff. They will have a wonderful time and many have started to count the days already!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
