Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 13, Brighstone Buzz, 21st December, 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

Congratulations and well done to all of our children, their enthusiasm and participation in our school Nativity got the Christmas celebrations underway in real style. It was STRICTLY Christmas all the way. Across the two performances the children shared the meaning behind the message of the Nativity story in a very special way. I would like to say a very special well done to Austin in year 3 and Macy in year 5, who both understudied at the last minute in place of children who were absent. Thank you to all of the parents that helped to return the staging and equipment to school after the final performance, this made a real difference to the ease with which we were able to clear and tidy the church afterwards – it was very much appreciated.

Attached to today’s Buzz is a letter that Hampshire Constabulary has asked us to share with parents. We will be holding e-safety sessions for teachers, governors, children and parents in the new year.

We return to school on Thursday 4th January 2018, the Pre-school do not return until Monday 8th January. This means that for those parents that use the breakfast and afterschool club provision that is provided through the Pre-school it will not be available on 4th and 5th January 2018.

I wish you all a restful and peaceful Christmas.

Best wishes

Mrs Fox

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
