Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 8, 4th November, 2016, Brighstone Buzz

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back, I hope you all had an enjoyable and restful half term.

Well done to all parents and children we had a fantastic 100% attendance for the whole school on Monday. Year 4 went on to complete 100% attendance for the whole week – Congratulations Nightingale Class.

We now have a school Facebook page, along with the school website and The Buzz we hope this will help to keep parents and the wider community informed about many of the exciting things that we have happening in school. The page is secure and nothing can be posted without it first going through our school administration. It can be viewed by the wider public in the same way as our school website is available. The page has a dual purpose: it acts as a bulletin / information board for parents, while at the same time raising the profile of the school in the same way that our school website or articles in the wider media would. Many schools now have a presence on social media and I would encourage any parents who are concerned, to have a look at a range of school Facebook pages and to come and talk it through with me.

I would like to remind parents that we have our Parent Consultation Evenings during the coming week, they will be on Wednesday 9th November from 3pm. Appointments will be ten minutes per child. If you think that you have a concern that needs to be discussed and it will take longer than the allocated time, we would ask that you make an appointment to see the class teacher separately on another night.

Best wishes

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
