Dear Parents,
There is never a week goes by at Brighstone without a whole range of exciting and interesting activities happening.
All of this week we have been celebrating the theme of Harvest and giving thanks. The children have worked hard on a range of Autumn and Harvest activities. I would like to thank all of the children who brought in gifts of food to be donated to the Foodbank.
I would like to thank those of you who supported last Friday’s Cake Sale in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Especially to Melissa Jones who organised it and the Year 6 children who stayed after school to help with the sale. The generosity shown by parents and staff through the donation of cakes and then coming along to the sale after school was very much appreciated. The total raised was a fantastic £184.66!
The theme for my message this week is very much about thanking people and I would like to thank Sarah Pocock for helping to organise the Bag Packing at Sainsbury’s last Sunday. We are very grateful to the children and adults who came along to help on the day between 10.00am and 12.00pm – THANK YOU everyone; we raised a wonderful £207.65!
Our Under 11 boys played a football match against Arreton at home on Thursday. They were captained by Henry Morgan and they all played extremely well, winning the game with a score of 5 – 3.
We still have a vacancy for a Parent Governor, please can I ask all of you to consider whether you could take on this role. As a school community we are all working together to improve the outcomes for our children and this would be a great opportunity to be involved as we move forward. If you are interested and would like to know more about the role, I would be very happy to talk it through with you.
Best wishes
Mrs Fox
