Issue 40, Brighstone Buzz, 17th July, 2015

Wow today has been a fantastic end to a remarkable half term. We congratulated a number of people in worship today. Mottistone were the winning house on Sports day. They achieved 9 points more points than Brook Hill House. Well done to everyone in Mottistone Team. They were presented with their trophy this morning.

The winners of the Beach Day Sandcastle were announced, the judges were unanimous and the winning design was a rather snappy crocodile.

15 children in year 5 sat nervously as they waited to find out if they had been successful in their application to be Head girl and boy. Congratulations to all of the applicants who wrote terrific letters and all interviewed really well. Please see below for more information. Congratulations to all involved. We are very proud of you.

This morning was also an opportunity to say thank you and goodbye to those staff who are moving on to new challenges and adventures. The longest serving was Mrs Compton who has been with the school for 15 years and 4 months. We wish them all the best for the future.

The end of the day all sees us waving goodbye to several children from all years and all of our Year 6 who are off to pastures new in September. Many tears have already been shed however they do seem excited by their learning journey ahead.

Have a wonderful summer break; see you on the 3rd of September.

Ms Hall

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
