Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 4, 25th September, 2015, Brighstone Buzz

What a fantastic Harvest Festival. The children’s singing never fails to raise my spirits. Our collective worship focus is currently thankfulness and every class has been asked to produce their own grace which will be used on a daily basis to give thanks for the food they receive.

Year 5 and 6 visited the British Museum on Wednesday. They were able to see the Elgin Marbles and they interviewed people from around the world regarding their views on whether or not they should be returned to Greece.

Thank you to all of you who returned the consultation questionnaire regarding the Christmas Performance. The consensus is that we will be holding an afternoon and evening performance. We will initially offer two tickets then any others will be available on a first served come first served basis. Look out for dates next week.

[gview file=””] [gview file=””] TIFS-open-day-2015 youth zone [gview file=””]It’s a busy Brighstone weekend ahead; good luck to all of our relay runners who will be passing the baton to one another around the Isle of Wight. If you would like to sponsor the ladies and gentlemen running, please pop into the school office. Sunday sees our first Car Boot Sale, if you have not booked a space please don’t panic, just come along with your £5 and your car of course! We are also looking for enthusiastic buyers so everyone is welcome.

Have a great weekend!

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
