Issue 39, 19th June, 2015, Brighstone Buzz

What a gloriously sunny, busy week it has been. We have lots of excited Year 4’s and Year 6’s as they will be off on their travels next Wednesday for the residential trip to Kingswood, Grosvenor Hall, Ashford in Kent.

On Monday, Year’s 4, 5 and 6 showcased their wonderful Theme Park ride models that they have been working on all term and they were very proud to show them off to family members in the afternoon. I know Year 6 have been writing letters to various Theme Parks this week to try and sell their rides, so we are looking forward to their response.

In this morning’s golden assembly, the School Choir sung a fabulous rendition of “Let it go” from Disney’s Frozen, the girls did a tremendous job! It really was beautiful to hear them sing, with some children singing solo parts extremely well. Well done girls, I know Christine Biggs is on the lookout for some boys to join too.

I have had the great pleasure this week of adding my Head Teacher comments to some fantastic school reports (coming home today). It really does make me very proud to see the progress children have made this year and hear just how hard they have been working.

New Reception class children were welcomed into school this week for their induction afternoon, it’s lovely to see their little smiley faces as they explored their new classroom.

I was great to see so many family members visiting the school yesterday for the literacy fun afternoon. It’s a great opportunity for the children to show off what they have been learning and to maybe teach the grownups a thing or two!

I am looking forward to another busy week as we hurtle towards the summer holidays. Have a great weekend. Ms Hall.

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
