Dear Parents and Carers,
Each week brings with it opportunities for inspiration, exploration and challenge in the learning experiences of the children.
Our children have displayed limitless stamina this week. On Wednesday four children took part in a STEM project. Their planning and design was exemplary and stood out for its carefully considered engineering alongside the projects from other schools. Yesterday, our Basketball Team took part in the Hampshire Games, this was a great achievement to have made it through so far, representing both the school and the island.
Today your child will bring home a letter sharing with parents the class groupings for next year. If you would like to discuss any aspects of the arrangements with me, then I am happy to meet with you. I will be in the school playground at the beginning and the end of the day as often as possible if you would like to arrange a meeting or alternatively I can be contacted directly by email at headteacher@brighstoneprimary.org.uk
At the end of this term we will be saying farewell to several members of staff; Mrs Tate and Miss Maude will be retiring, Miss Willcock and Plum will also be moving on in their careers. We are sad that they will be leaving us and wish them luck in all that the future holds for them. This means that we are currently advertising for a number of posts, these are on the school website or further information is available from the school office.
Our country dancers will have another opportunity to show their talent at the Shorwell Midsummer Fair on Saturday. Do go along to Northcourt – gates open at 1.30pm and support the children as they entertain the crowds at Shorwell.
I hope you all have an enjoyable and restful weekend.
Best Wishes
Mrs Fox
