Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 33, Brighstone Buzz, 22nd May, 2015

I think I must have blinked as it feels as though this half term has flown past at supersonic speed! I have a feeling that next half term will pass just as quickly as it is full of a large number of exciting activities that you can become involved in if you would like to. Maths and Literacy afternoons, Sports Day and a visit to the Beach are all planned, look out for more details.

The reading roller coaster is also about to be released at Brighstone. We know that our children love to read, so jump on board, enjoy the ride and be in with the chance of winning super prizes! Look out for the information flyer.

The Brighstone explorers in Year 1 and 2 have been out and about this week visiting Osborne House. They were blessed with fine weather and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Swiss Cottage and gardens. Immediately following half term, Years 3 and 5 will be travelling a little further afield to Winchester to visit the Intech Science Centre (www.winchestersciencecentre.org). Year 4 and 6 are then the next to depart as they travel to Grosvenor Hall in Ashford, Kent on their residential visit.

Thank you for both the FAB questionnaires and parent feedback forms that so many of you kindly returned. It has been truly helpful to gain the views of so many of you. These will be looked at closely over the Half Term break and I will keep you updated with the subsequent outcomes.

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
