Dear Parents and Carers,

Well done to all of our Year 6 pupils for all of the stamina and resilience they have shown in their tests this week. They have worked really hard on the run up to the Interim Assessments. We were really impressed by the sense of calm determination they had each day as they sat the papers. The tests are only one moment in time and do not reflect the whole of the learning journey that the children have been on. What really matters is the wide range of skills that all of the children have and we really look forward to celebrating these during their final term at Brighstone. We are busy putting together a timetable of events, we realise how important it is to have dates well in advance and as soon as we have finalised all of the arrangements we will share them with you.

On Tuesday this week we welcomed Theresa Phillips – HMI (Her Majesties Inspector) to our school, as she completed a Section 8 monitoring visit. There will be a letter published by OFSTED following this visit and we will share it with parents when we receive it.

I hope you have all got your tickets for Wolverton this weekend, it is always such a fun event. The weather forecast looks promising and we are keeping our fingers crossed as so much hard work goes into it. I look forward to seeing you there.

Best wishes

Mrs Fox

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
