Dear Parents,
Our term is now well under way and a lot has been happening to continue to build the school as a happy, challenging and positive learning environment.
The children in Chaffinch Class were able to take their learning outside the classroom as they enjoyed a walk on the downs in the early autumn sunshine. Owl Class also extended their ‘Down on the Farm’ theme with a local walk to the farm.
Last week I shared with you that the children in Kingfisher Class had been applying for roles and responsibilities – they took this very seriously and I know that they will have an important role to play in improving many aspects of the day to day life of our school. Over the next three weeks we will detail the various responsibilities that the children have been given. In our Golden Worship today the school was introduced to the Head Boy and Head Girl along with their deputies. Next week we will introduce you to our School Council, Well-Being Team and House Captains.
There have been some changes to our staff over the summer holidays – at the end of the summer holidays we said goodbye to Mrs Caws and last week we said goodbye to Mrs Reynolds. We wished them both a fond farewell and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for their hard work during the time that they were with us at Brighstone. They will both be missed but we do hope that they will find opportunities to come back and visit us. On Thursday we interviewed a number of candidates for a Learning Support role, we had a strong field of applicants and I look forward to being able to introduce the new staff to you once everything is in place .
This is an exciting weekend for the BSA as they take on the huge challenge of the sponsored run against Nine Acres Primary school. They have put in a huge effort and I’m sure you will join me in wishing them a successful day. Thank you to everyone who is taking part and to those of you who are sponsoring the runners.
I wish you all a happy and restful weekend.
Mrs Fox
