Dear Parents and Carers,
“Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend.” Albert Camus. During our worship times this half-term we have been exploring our core values of Love, Courage and Respect through the concept of Friendship. We have been thinking about who our friends are and how we can a good friend to others.
A group of children in school that will value the support and encouragement that friendship offers are our Year 6 pupils. Next week is an important week for them as they will be taking their Key Stage 2 assessment tests. We wish them well and know that all of their hard work will be rewarded.
Last week I mentioned that we have an exciting and varied curriculum planned for the term that would provide learning opportunities to enhance the curriculum outside the classroom. It was the turn of our Year 3 children this week, on Thursday Year 3 not only visited Brading Roman Villa, but did so in Roman costume. It was a great opportunity for them to experience living history at a richly resourced heritage site. Thank you very much to the BSA for their financial support for the trip.
It is always appreciated that the money raised helps to contribute to lowering the cost of school visits.
A great fundraiser for the school is Wolverton Folk and Blues Fair. I hope you have all got your tickets for Wolverton this weekend, it is always such a fun event. We will keep our fingers crossed that the weather is kind to us as so much hard work goes into it. I look forward to seeing you there.
Best Wishes
Mrs Fox
