Dear Parents,
Another week has flown by in the life of Brighstone Primary School. We are all very excited with the announcement that the Governors have appointed a new Head Teacher for September, Mrs Fox. There will be plenty of work put in over the summer where Mrs Fox will be working with the school to ensure the handover is as smooth as possible and I am sure there will be opportunities to meet her in the coming weeks.
We are expecting to be able to publish the OFSTED report next week, so please look out for it in the school bags and the school website.
As the school prepares our Year 2 and Year 6 for the upcoming SATs the children are working tirelessly in preparation.
I had the privilege to hear the Year 6’s read their speech about the upcoming referendum and hear them debate with poise and maturity the themes underpinning our national political scene; they really are an insightful group of children.
Year 2 have been developing their poetry and I have some excellent examples displayed in my office on the ‘Cool Wall’.
Dr Fitzgerald visited Reception class and held a Teddy surgery with the children. All of which were completely fascinated with what was being shared and discussed. I would also like to thank Yr
1 for cooking me some soup today! It was lovely.
Please all enjoy the long weekend as I know our team here will as they all deserve a break after the last couple of weeks.
Mr Mark Snow
Head Teacher
