Issue 25, Brighstone Buzz, 29th March, 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

The days are getting longer, warmer and brighter. There are many reminders that Spring has arrived and Easter is fast approaching. This weekend there is a family service for Mothering Sunday in church at 11.00am. For the past two years we have invited the children to take part in the service and we would like to do the same again this year. Thank you to all of the parents and children that have already offered to help and take part; It is not too late to join us so please do come along on Sunday.

As many of you may be aware there is currently a consultation process taking place about school place planning in the West Wight. It is important that the voice of as many teachers, parents and local community members is heard for all of the schools in West Wight. There is a poster attached with this week’s Buzz for anyone interested in attending a meeting organised by All Saints and the Freshwater community that supports with completing the consultation process, which is open until 15th April 2019. More information can be found on the following link.

Next term we are hoping to set up a Bell Ringing Club – it would be great to have a group from school that could ring for our services. We have already had a number of replies; please text the school if you would like your child to join this club. There will be no extra-curricular clubs during the first week back. More information will be available at the start of term.

During the coming week our preparations for Easter are going to be well underway. This Wednesday (3rd April) we have a whole school Service in Church at 8.40am, this will be led by Rev. Clive Todd. All parents, family and friends are welcome to join us for the service, it would be lovely to see as many of you as possible there.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at church on Sunday and across the coming week at the Parent Consultation evenings, please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything that you would lie to discuss.

Best Wishes

Mrs Fox

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
