Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 24, 13th March, 2015, Brighstone Buzz

Wow what an amazing week it has been.

I was remarkably proud to hear of the amazing success of our 11 Cross Country runners. We entered the Island Cross Country Festival for the first time and our girls and boys ran extremely well. There are more details of this below.

On Tuesday we welcomed lots of our Mums into school for a special Mother’s day Lunch. They had the opportunity to sit with their child/ren and I have been told that it was very enjoyable meal indeed. A huge thanks to all of you that attended, the ladies in the kitchen, the lunchtime staff as well as the ladies in the office who worked so hard to arrange it. We will other opportunities like this in the future. Don’t forget you can always come into school on Tuesday lunchtime for a Community lunch. Just make sure you let Suzanne or Melissa know on a Monday.

There is nothing I like more than to get lost in a good book. I am spoilt for choice at the moment as all of the World Book Day competition entries are displayed in the library. Miss Brough received over 50 entries which is a tremendous response. More details can be found below of all of the winners.

The school hall was transformed into a professional photo studio yesterday. The photographers mentioned how nice it was to see so many happy faces and the photos are looking great and should be with us before the Easter break.

Lastly today has been filled with smiles, laughs and giggles as I have been delighted by so many ‘funny faces’. Many donations were received and we will be adding to the total later on today as Immy, Bess, Poppy, Eadie, Holly and Chloe P. from year 5 will be selling cakes after school. The grand total raised will be in next week’s Buzz.

I just have space to wish all of our Mums a Happy Mother’s day for Sunday and hope you all enjoy the weekend. Ms Hall.

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
