Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 18, Brighstone Buzz, 22nd January, 2016

I have had a fantastic week as I have spent time in years 1, 3 and 4 sharing in the Children’s learning and looking at their books. The Children were all very enthusiastic about their work and I am looking forward to popping into all of the other year groups in the next couple of weeks.

Year 2 visited Portsmouth Dockyard this week and had a fantastic time. Mrs Lennon was very proud of the way that her class behaved, she received very complimentary comments about their exemplary behaviour as we would expect!

Our Girls football team returned triumphant having won their match against Wroxall 6-1. The boys also played a good game and were terrific sportsmen by all accounts.

Our small leadership wellbeing team have spent time talking about a child friendly version of our anti-bullying policy. We have sent a copy home and would welcome any feedback by Friday 29th January.

I would like to thank all of you for your kind words this week following what was a very difficult decision for me.

Have a fantastic Weekend. Mrs Street

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
