Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 17, Brighstone Buzz, 18th January,

Dear Parents and Carers,

‘It’s easy to stand in the crowd but it takes courage to stand alone.’ Mahatma Ghandi. We have continued to develop our thinking based on the theme of courage, this week our focus has been on doing the right thing – this is not always an easy option.

Our year 6 children have had the opportunity to challenge themselves outside the classroom this week as they have completed the first day of their level 2 Bikeability – we look forward to sharing their success with you once they have completed it.

The first week of our after school clubs for this half-term has been a great success. I would like to thank all of the staff who are giving up their time to run these; without the goodwill of the staff we would not be able to offer these opportunities. If there are any parents that have a skill that they could share with the children, we would love to hear about it. This would be another way that we could extend the extra-curricular activities that we are able to offer.

Thank you all for your ongoing support for the school.

Best wishes

Mrs Fox

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
