Dear Parents and Carers,
Over the past week the mornings have become noticeably lighter and the days have started to get longer. The last month has flown by, half-term is getting closer and we are now in our fourth week of our worship theme linked to Perseverance. This week we have thought about being reciprocal learners, how we help each other and encourage others to keep going. It has been encouraging to see how much effort the children have put into their learning behaviours. As I walk around school and spend time in the classrooms, I am greeted by engaging, stimulating and varied learning opportunities for the children.
During this coming week, on Tuesday 6th February, it is Safer Internet Day. This is a global event that we will be recognising through our curriculum at an age appropriate level for every class. E-safety is an important issue that requires ongoing updating, education and support to ensure that our children are equipped to safeguard themselves. After half-term we are planning follow-up sessions for the children, information sessions for parents and further training for staff. More information on Safer Internet Day can be found using this website link: https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/2018
On Sunday 11th March it is Mothering Sunday, this year the service will be at St Peter’s in Shorwell and it is being led by Bishop Christopher. Last year quite a few of our children came to the service and took part with the readings, prayers, singing and giving out posies of flowers. It would be great if we could encourage families to join us again for the service. If your child would like to help and take part, please contact me – it was an enjoyable family occasion last year.
I hope you all have a restful weekend.
Best wishes
Mrs Fox
