Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy New Year. Welcome back to the start of our Spring Term.
Over the past week we have been thinking about the season of Epiphany and the journey of the wise men. The focus was on the courage, resilience and perseverance that they needed to follow the star and not give up. This has led in well to the theme for our collective worship this half-term, which is Courage.
Over the next few weeks we will encourage the children to show resilience, love learning and have the courage not to give up. As part of this we will ask the children to set themselves goals and challenges, we want them to be proud of their learning, their achievements and their school.
The sense of belonging that the children have to the school is important and we would like to thank all of the parents who support us by ensuring that the children have the correct school uniform. Please can we ask that you continue to encourage your children to wear their uniform with pride, including the correct school shoes. If you would like support with providing the correct uniform for your child (and PE kit), please do not hesitate to contact us as we have a range of good quality second hand items that we would be happy to share with you.
As a school we are committed to Safeguarding, with this in mind we would like to politely remind parents of our collection arrangements for children at the end of the day. If your child is being collected by someone other than an adult with registered parental responsibility for the child or an adult listed on the data collection form (eg: known grandparent), please could parents/guardians ensure that the class teacher and office are aware of this change. We realise that on some occasions children are returning home to play with friends and are collected by another set of parents, we would still politely request that we are informed of this to avoid any confusion. Please do not be offended if the teacher or member of staff asks for confirmation of the arrangements, our primary concern is the safety and welfare of your child.
We are looking forward to the term ahead of us and all of the opportunities that it will have.
Best wishes, Mrs Fox
