1st October 2009
Dear Parents/guardians,
Our topic in Lions and Tigers next half-term will be based around Tudor history.
As I’m sure you are aware, there is a wealth of Tudor history at the ‘Historic Dockyards’ in Portsmouth. We would like to take the children to visit the Mary Rose, associated exhibits and to participate in workshops to learn more about the Tudor way of life. We feel that this will be an extremely valuable experience for all of the children, which will enhance and consolidate their learning.
This visit will be on: Tuesday 1st December 2009
We will be travelling to Ryde Esplanade by coach, leaving the school at 9:30am (please arrive at school at the usual time) and will return to school at approximately 5:15pm. We will need additional parental helpers for the trip, so please let your child’s class teacher know if you will be available as soon as possible, in order to complete the risk assessment for the visit.
The cost for this trip will be £13. We appreciate this can be an expensive time of year for parents, so please feel free to pay in instalments of any amount, until the final date of 27th November.
We would be grateful if you could complete and return the permission slip below by the 13th November The contribution of £13 (or instalments of any denomination) should be sent into school in an envelope marked “Lions and Tigers Mary Rose Trip”, along with your child’s name and the amount of payment being made before the 27th November.
Many thanks,
Amanda Johnston
Headteacher
