Our children say: “Brighstone is a small school where big things happen!” They’re right!

It is an exciting time for education on the Isle of Wight, with confirmed re-structuring to a two tier system. As a popular church school, Brighstone will expand and enlarge to retain Year 5 pupils in September 2010 and Year 6 pupils in 2011.

We are a successful school with aspirations of becoming outstanding and have created a new position for a deputy who is willing to seize this challenge and the opportunity to work with a committed team.

The Governing Body are seeking a candidate who:
• Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with a passion and thirst for learning to enhance and enrich our provision
• Can provide strategic thinking to build upon current achievements and achieve impact
• Has a proven track record in raising standards and securing progress by providing exceptional learning opportunities
• Demonstrates excellent leadership, management and communication skills and is consistently ‘child centred’

Our School Council are looking for: “A person who is kind, like our Headteacher, organised, has time to listen and a sense of humour”

Does this sound like you? If so, we’d all love to hear from you!

We can offer:
• Children who love to learn!
• Curriculum innovation and integrated technology
• A lively, vibrant, creative school at the heart of the community
• A supportive, caring and happy place to work

Due to the time constraints involved in the recruitment for this post, please e-mail the school for the attention of Mrs Suzanne Norman, Office Administrator, who will send you details of the post electronically.

Please contact the school if you would like to make a visit or have an informal discussion with the Headteacher Miss Johnston.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.
