Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 6, Brighstone Buzz, 12th October, 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a vibrant, busy and action packed week we have had!

Our service of Thanksgiving for harvest was one of praise, celebration and joyful giving. The children were amazing – they performed, read and sang with great enthusiasm and it was lovely to welcome the parents that joined us in church. Thank you so much for the donations of Harvest gifts for the Salvation Army, your generosity will make such a difference to others in need.

We have had lots of visitors in school this week. On Thursday we welcomed Jason Matthews our new LLP into school. He will be working with us over the coming year as we continue to progress on our school improvement journey. Thursday was a very busy day for us as during the afternoon, Year 3 and Year 4 were lucky enough to take part in a visit from the author Alex Milway. This was part of the Isle of Wight Literary Festival and they enjoyed learning how he draws and creates the characters for his books.

Today our school governors have spent the day with us, the children were very welcoming and eager to share their learning with them. Thank you to the governors for the time that they give to the school and for their ongoing support and challenge.
.
Best wishes
Mrs Fox

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
