Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 29, 5th May, Brighstone Buzz

What a difference a Bank Holiday has made!  Although this week has gone very quickly, it has been packed with activity.

On Thursday Year 3 not only visited Brading Roman Villa, but did so in Roman costume.  It was a great opportunity for them to experience living history at a richly resourced heritage site.

Today the living history experience continued in School for our Year 4 children.  They were surprised by a visit from Wolfguard Viking re-enactment group.  This gave them great insight into Viking life.

As the Summer Term progresses, we will be sharing with parents the class arrangements for next year.  The first piece of news to share is that Mrs. Pugh will be leaving us at the end of this School year.  We would like to congratulate her on being
successful in her new appointment that gives her an opportunity to develop her career in a larger school.  There will be an opportunity, nearer the end of the term, for everyone to thank Mrs. Pugh for all her hard work over the years at Brighstone, say goodbye and wish her well for the future.

Next week is an important week for our Year 6 pupils.  They will be taking their interim assessment tests, we wish them well and know that all of their hard work will be rewarded.

Best Wishes,
Mrs. T. Fox

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
