NEWS FROM MISS JOHNSTON

What a busy week! Year 4 have had a fantastic (and exhausting!) time on their residential adventure to Kingswood Activity Centre in Kent. Activities included: Team challenge, Aeroball, 3G Swing, Zipwire, Animation, CSI Kingswood and much, much more! A super time was had by all and I would like to express my thanks to Mrs MQueen, Rachael, Brian and Colin Hibberd, for giving up their time to take the children. Year 1 have undertaken their phonic screening test this week. They all tried extremely hard and the results will be available to parents later in the term. We were pleased to see 18 dads, granddads and great granddads in school on Wednesday for our Father’s Day lunch – I hear that the jam sponge was a particular success! Year 5 braved the pre-festival traffic on Thursday and had a wonderful day at the Sealife Centre in Southsea and our book fair has officially begun! Next week, all Year 2-6 classes will be undertaking their Relationships and Sex Education lessons as detailed in the previous letters sent to parents. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you require any further information. I spoke in my letter last week, about the building work taking place to the library wall. This is planned to start on the 2nd July and last until the end of term. A scaffold will be erected to the external wall during this time, so please be additionally careful around the main entrance area and do not allow your child to be in this area unattended. Many thanks. Miss JohnstonSmile
