NEWS FROM MISS JOHNSTON
Half term is here and as I write this on a rather damp and windy Thursday evening, I am hoping that the weather clears so that parents can participate in our wonderful plans to celebrate the Jubilee. The children and staff have all worked incredibly hard towards this day and I hope that the opportunity to dress in a 1950’s style and enjoy a ‘street party lunch’ will live long in all our memories. My thanks to the BSA for their kind gift of a commemorative Jubilee badge for every child. This week, Brighstone won the keystage 2 cluster tennis tournament (fantastic news!) and many Year 6 children completed their Bikeability training. I have attached a reminder calendar of events for the last half-term (pin it to your fridge as there is something going on almost everyday after half-term – including weekends!), Miss Capelin’s latest edition of ‘Buzzing Around’ (our extended services half-termly newsletter), as well as our ‘OUTSTANDING’ SIAS report – see next page.
During the first week back after half-term there are several class trips, so please ensure that you know what is happening and when! I will also be away from school Wednesday 13th-15th June at the Headteacher’s conference in Birmingham. In my absence Mrs Pugh will be non-teaching and accessible to you. I trust that you will give her your full support. Finally, my thanks to the staff and governors for their continued hard work and dedication this half-term. It is very much appreciated! Wishing you all a truly special extended Jubilee weekend and half-term. I look forward to seeing everybody safely back in school on TUESDAY 12TH JUNE at 8:25am. Miss Johnston
