Dear All, Please find attached the latest edition of the Buzz. It's been a busy week trying to cram the usual 5 days into 4 this week, but somehow, we just about managed it! I hope you find the attached Buzz interesting and useful. Why not stop off and take a look at our gallery whilst you are here to see some photos of our most recent activities. We also appear in the County Press gallery today, with some of our wonderful Book Week photographs http://www.iwcpgallery.co.uk/ Good luck to Mary, Linda and Kathy, who are competing in the Great South Run this weekend to raise money for the expansion of the school. We are all behind you - but most of us in spirit I'm afraid! Wishing you all a very safe and restful half-term. See you all at 8:25am on the 2nd November. Miss Johnston :)

Dear All, I am writing and uploading this from a very busy Red Funnel ferry on a Friday evening, after a super day visiting two YR-6 Primary Schools in Hampshire. It was a pleasure to see what is before us as we continue to expand and provided me with plenty of food for thought in how we can continue to take Brighstone Primary forward. Remember that for the children, it is only a 4 day week next week due to our INSET Day on Friday - FAB is open if you need to book a ploace for your child. Enjoy your weekend - I'm being called back to my car. Miss Johnston :)

Dear All, It has been a very busy week but rounded off beautifully today with our 'dressing-up' day, to celebrate World Book Week. This years' national theme was 'Books Around the World' and it was a delight to see so many children in an array of different costumes in school today. Congratulations to our winners in each class: Rebecca G, Chloe H, Alice M, Lydia M, Che E and Annabelle S. A special award was also presented to Charlie H. The staff award was won by Sharon. All winners received book tokens to spend on their favourite books! Thank you to those parents who attended the 'coffee and chat' opportunity this morning - it's always good to see you and hear how things are progressing, but as we are now such an enlarged school. It was also super to see parents at our internet safety evening last night - a really worthwhile event with further ideas to support your work at home attached below. I look forward to seeing many more parents at the Harvest Service in St Mary's on Sunday. Kind Regards, Miss Johnston :)

Hasn't the weather been miserable this week! Apologies for cancelling the football club today, but we didn't think it would be too sensible to allow 40 children on the field in such conditions! We hope that all parents received our cancellation text. If not, we may not have your correct mobile telephone number. Please contact Tarryn in the school office to rectify this. Despite the weather, there have been come fantastic learning opportunities this week. Please take the time to look at the 'news' page to read all about our latest Forest Schools adventure in a very soggy wood! I hope the weather next week improves. If not, don't forget your waterproof coats - with names in! Miss Johnston :)
