Brighstone was one of the first Schools on the Island to achieve this Award. Linzi Denness and Lisa Matthews coordinate and plan cooking activities for all the pupils plus additional cooking events for the community. The Cooking Room is a well resourced area with superb equipment. The children regularly learn new skills and knowledge about food and cooking. The rest of the School get to taste and sample the new foods and recipes displayed around the School so everyone can have a go! From September 2010, cooking became an integral part of each year groups’ curriculum, which is based upon children acquiring key skills. A weekly cooking club is held and children and the community, enjoy participating in events such as Farmhouse Breakfast Week and Roast Dinner Day.
