• Successful planning for school reorganisation ready to accommodate Year 5 in September
2010
• Large increase in pupil numbers to be able to provide single age classes from September 2010
• Improved dialogue and transparency with all stakeholders, using informal methods and new
technologies to support this, e.g. website, texting service
• Improvements to site safety, including safeguarding
• Curriculum innovation based upon children’s needs and ideas
• Purchase of new ICT equipment to impact upon pupil learning and engagement
• Enhanced assessment procedures focused upon pupil progress
• Improved relationship with Brighstone Pre-school
• Successful pre-school to school transition programme
• More flexibility with out of hours and holiday childcare
• National Silver accreditation for school travel plan
• Silver Eco-Schools award
• Nominations for 4 National Teaching Awards
What are we trying to improve?
2009/10:
1. To improve standards in writing
2. To improve provision in the Early Years Foundation Stage
3. To implement revised assessment procedures for reading, writing and maths
4. To implement the new Isle of Wight Agreed Syllabus for RE
5. To successfully plan for the first phase of school reorganisation September 2010
2010/11:
1. To continue to focus on improving standards in writing, particularly keystage 2
2. To endeavour to provide outstanding teaching and learning opportunities in every class
3. To embed leadership at all levels, including the introduction of a new senior leadership team
4. To further develop community cohesion and partnership working
5. To successfully plan for becoming a full age-range primary school-September 2011
