Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Issue 33, Brighstone Buzz, 16th June, 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

The excitement and activity, as we approach the final few weeks of our Summer Term, has continued to gather pace. Please check the dates for your diary section, there is a lot happening over the coming weeks.

This week the children in Robin Class have made Scarecrows for the County Show, they were eager to share in worship that wanted to thank God for the potatoes that they had grown, they looked and smelt delicious as they were cooking on Thursday afternoon. Chaffinch Class wel-comed Zoe Sadler, a local author and illustrator, into school to talk about her work. The fun and activity continued in both Swallow and Night-ingale Class – on Wednesday they attended the Country Dancing Festival at Havenstreet. This was an amazing event, there were over 700 children taking part from many of the island’s primary schools. A huge well done to the children, their behaviour was exemplary, their dancing was enthusiastic and a pleasure to watch.
Our country dancers will have another opportunity to show their talent at the Shorwell Summer Fayre on Saturday. Do go along to Northcourt for 1.15pm and support the children as they entertain the crowds at Shorwell.

We wish our year 6 children well as they set off on their residential to Rookesbury Park next Monday, we look forward to hearing about all of the fun and activity when they return.
I hope that you have an enjoyable weekend

Best wishes
Mrs Fox

Parent Survey – Feedback

“Brighstone School is an excellent school. Very happy with the progress my child is making”

“My child has come on in leaps and bounds and has massively surprised me. I am very happy.”

Thanks to all parents who took part in our recent Parent Questionnaire. We are proud to report that 100% of parents who responded said that their child is happy and feels safe at our school. The responses this year also show an overall improvement in the school’s performance in meeting particular pupils’ needs, supporting learning, receiving information about progress and dealing with bullying – and it was great to see that you feel we are good at keeping you well informed.

Our thanks to all parents who completed the questionnaire.
